‘Knock Out Diabetes’ to be held at Kennel Boxing Gym

SAN LEANDRO, California — Knock Out Diabetes, an event addressing the growing rate of Type II diabetes in the Filipino community, will be held at 1 p.m. on June 27 at the Kennel Boxing Gym here.

Knock Out Diabetes is collaborative effort between the Ethnic Health Institute, LifeLong Medical Care, The Kennel Boxing Gym and No Worries Filipino Vegan Cuisine.

By addressing two of the major risk factors for Type II diabetes, lack of physical activity and improper diet, this initiative hopes to increase awareness about ways to prevent diabetes through boxing workshops, cooking demonstrations of healthy Filipino cuisine, health screenings and diabetes education.
