MANILA, Philippines—Amid the escalating maritime dispute in the West Philippine Sea, the Chinese government donated funds for the reconstruction of a typhoon-devastated hospital in Visayas, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

DFA said the Chinese Embassy in Manila donated a P100, 000 for the reconstruction of the Divine Word Hospital in Tacloban City.

The hospital was one of the heavily destroyed infrastructures in Tacloban after Super Typhoon “Yolanda” pummelled the Visayas.
